I had a lot of fun putting this blanket together. I used this pattern and completed it in a few days. I may even have to make a larger version for myself;)
Hi....I saw this on Pinterest and love it!!! I have a question though.....I know it's not your pattern but since you've made it I figured you could help. On the very first Row after the chain 205 it says to skip 1 chain, then do 1 SC in next two chains. then its says this "inserting crochet hook in horizontal thread in back of ch st; sk 1 st;" ........huh? So confused. Your help would be great!!! Thanks!!
Skip the chain closest to the hook, single crochet as normal through the next two chains and then, skip one of the back horizontal stitches and work the rest of the pattern in the other horizontal back stitches. I hope that helped!
I just did a Google search for Chevron Crochet patterns and your black & white blanket showed up. I loved it so much, you've inspired me to make one for myself. I was wondering how many stitches did you chain to begin with?
Question on the pattern: after finishing the first two rows, it says to repeat row 2 for the remainder of the quilt. Are you supposed to ch 1 before turning to row three? Or do you just turn without ch 1? Thanks!
I love this so much! Yours looks a little bigger than the one on the pattern, what size hook did you use? And would you call this a beginner's pattern or intermediate? Thanks!
I think I used a 5mm...sorry I can't remember for sure! My blanket was a little bigger than the original. I would call this an intermediate just because it took me a while to figure out the pattern. It was simple once I got the hang of it, but it did take more concentration than a simple crochet pattern.
This blanket is super cute. I love how the chevron turned out.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!
ReplyDeletelooks great! what kind of yarn did you use?
ReplyDeleteCassandra,
ReplyDeleteThanks! I used a medium weight yarn....not quite sure of the brand. It was one that I have only seen at Michaels for about 3.99.
This is gorgeous! I want to learn how to do a chevron blanket as soon as I finish up my other crochet (and knitting) projects. Any secrets?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting the link to this pattern! I've been looking for a chevron crochet pattern for a long time. :)
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog via Pinterest and I love your style! Thanks for the great crafts and inspiration! <3

DeleteWhat stitch did you use to border the blanket?
ReplyDeleteI used a single crochet;)
DeleteHi Melissa,
ReplyDeleteI just did a Google search for Chevron Crochet patterns and your black & white blanket showed up. I loved it so much, you've inspired me to make one for myself. I was wondering how many stitches did you chain to begin with?
Thank you!
actually, it looked bigger than a baby's blanket, so i assumed that you added extra stitches. sorry :)
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa,
ReplyDeleteSince the pattern you used calls for more colors, and I want to make it black and white, how many rows of each color did you use?
Thanks
Hi Lori:)
DeleteI just substituted black for each different color in the pattern and kept the white rows the same. I hope that answered your question. Good luck!
How much yarn did you use for the black nd white chevron blanket?
ReplyDeleteI used about three bundles of yarn per color (so about 6 all together)...and each bundle was 260 yds of yarn:)
Deletei cant find the pattern?
ReplyDeleteThe pattern is in the link "this pattern" that I highlighted in yellow.
DeleteHow large did you make your blanket and how many did you chain to start it?
ReplyDeleteI made it in a baby size. I followed the pattern in the link exactly since I didn't know how to alter it to make it larger.
DeleteWell if i can figure out how to make it larger i will share my info with you :)
DeleteThis is perfect for my best friend's baby room! Can you tell me how many skeins of yarn you used to make this? Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI used 3 skeins of each color...each skein being about 250 yds. Hope that helps!

ReplyDeleteI chained one before turning each row;)
